Original Report: Haverhill authorities said the bodies found in a home over the weekend were the result of a murder-suicide.
Loren Marino, 24, of Haverhill, and Austin Amaral, 24, of North Providence, Rhode Island, were found at a home at 195 Broadway on Sunday, March 3, when police were called to perform a welfare check, the Essex County District Attorney said.

A former UMass-Lowell student is charged with multiple felonies after police said he stole more than $70,000 from his late professor’s state pension, state officials said.
Jeffrey Nazarian, 55, of Haverhill, was arraigned in Salem Superior Court on two counts of forgery, one count each of larceny over $1200, perjury, and uttering, authorities said.
Nazarian received over $70,000 after the death of his former professor and friend, John Hamer, on Jan. 30, 2019, according to the Massachusetts Office of the Inspector General.

An armed carjacking suspect and his accomplice have been apprehended following a pursuit across several municipalities in Massachusetts, police said.
The suspect, 35-year-old Nathan Saben of Haverhill, and his accomplice, 40-year-old Jessica Tirone, were both caught after a pursuit in Essex and Middlesex Counties on Thursday, Oct. 5 that began in Lawrence and ended in Dracut, state police announced.

A 27-year-old Essex County man drowned on Tuesday, Sept. 5, while swimming with a friend at a beach in New Hampshire, authorities said. Police later identified him as Wandy Bethancourt-Adames of Lawrence.
A surfer noticed the two men off a Hampton, NH, beach around 7:30 p.m. screaming for help, New Hampshire State Police said.
