Man Accused Of Shooting Boston Cop In Chest Charged A 31-year-old Boston man has been arrested and charged with shooting a police officer who was responding to a 911 call Monday night, March 18, police said.  Avery Lewis, of Dorchester, faces 10 charges from the 9:30 p.m. shooting in Mattapan, Boston police announced on Tuesday.  The officer, whose name was not released, responded to a 911 call near the intersection of Esmond and Bradshaw Streets to reports of a man armed with a gun in the area.  Police approached the man who fired a single shot and hit one of them in the chest.
