A 67-year-old Middlesex County man was identified as the worker who was killed when a rock ledge fell on Thursday, Aug. 22, and crushed an excavator at a Massachusetts quarry. Brian Curtis Derby, 67, of Townsend, died just before 8 a.m. when the rocks fell on his heavy machinery at the Sterling quarry along Stone Crest Way, the Worcester County District Attorney said. A construction worker suffered life-threatening injuries after falling between 15 and 20 feet, officials say. Firefighters were alerted of a construction accident on Green Road in Medford around 11:55 a.m. on Monday, July 3 in which a construction worker fell between 15 and 20 feet, according to the Medford Firefighters Local 1032. Construction Workers Injured After 25-Foot Fall In Marlborough: Fire Department
Two construction workers were hospitalized after falling about 25 feet off scaffolding near the Marlborough Public Library, fire officials confirm to Daily Voice. Firefighters got a call reporting the fall around 8:25 a.m. on Friday Feb. 10, Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Emanuelson told Daily Voice. Upon arrival, crews transported two male workers to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Emanuelson said. Both had significant but not life-threatening injuries. Crane Crashes Into Building At Boston Construction Site
The Boston Fire Department said a crane tipped over at a construction site in Dorchester Tuesday morning. Fire crews rushed to the intersection of Crescent Avenue and Dorchester Avenue just after 10 a.m. when the crane fell onto the building. No one was injured, the fire department said.
