Arson On Easter: Cambridge Church Fire Intentionally Set, Police Say
The six-alarm fire that displaced a churchful of congregants is under investigation as arson, officials say. The Faith Lutheran Church in Cambridge was scorched by a fire on Easter Sunday, April 9 that is now being investigated as arson, according to the Massachusetts State Police. The blaze broke out at approximately 5:30 p.m., rendering the 130-year-old building unusable. It was not extinguished until approximately 4:00 a.m. the following morning. Only two days after a six-alarm fire tore through a church in Cambridge, the congregation is refusing to cancel its twice-monthly free community supper and instead will serve meals at an alternate location. Dive Team Successfully Recovers Woman's Wedding Ring From The Charles River
Members of the Cambridge Fire Department's Dive Team and Marine Unit are being praised after successfully recovering a woman's wedding ring from the Charles River. A woman at the Charlesgate Yacht Club informed crews that she dropped her diamond wedding ring into the river on Sunday, July 3, Lieutenant Stephen Capuccio said in a statement on Twitter.
