(Update) Boxford Man Charged With Drunk Driving Fatal Crash In Newbury: DA
An Essex County man with an outstanding warrant was arrested for driving drunk in a crash that led to a man's death, officials say. James Turcotte, 63, of Danvers, died after his motorcycle and another motorcycle collided on Route 1 in Newbury on Thursday, July 13, according to the Newbury Police Department. The crash was reported around 7:45 p.m., after which police responded and found Turcotte suffering from serious injuries, but alive. Rowley Man Dies In 3-Alarm Fire, Cause Under Investigation
A three-alarm fire claimed the life of a man who became the sixth older adult to die in a house fire in the past three weeks, officials say. A passerby spotted smoke emanating from a home at 2 Railroad Avenue around 4:10 a.m. on Friday, April 21, according to the Rowley Fire Department. An "aggressive" attack was needed to extinguish the fire that led to serious injuries and the death of a pet cat, officials say.
