(Update) Boxford Man Charged With Drunk Driving Fatal Crash In Newbury: DA
An Essex County man with an outstanding warrant was arrested for driving drunk in a crash that led to a man's death, officials say. James Turcotte, 63, of Danvers, died after his motorcycle and another motorcycle collided on Route 1 in Newbury on Thursday, July 13, according to the Newbury Police Department. The crash was reported around 7:45 p.m., after which police responded and found Turcotte suffering from serious injuries, but alive. Rowley Man Dies In 3-Alarm Fire, Cause Under Investigation
A three-alarm fire claimed the life of a man who became the sixth older adult to die in a house fire in the past three weeks, officials say. A passerby spotted smoke emanating from a home at 2 Railroad Avenue around 4:10 a.m. on Friday, April 21, according to the Rowley Fire Department. An "aggressive" attack was needed to extinguish the fire that led to serious injuries and the death of a pet cat, officials say. The fire broke out at a one-story ranch house in Georgetown shortly after noon on Wednesday, April 19, according to the Georgetown Fire Department. This holiday season will undoubtedly feel much different than last for the Daly-Somma boys, who will be spending it without their mom, Jennifer. The community, however, is hoping to make it a little brighter.
