The MSPCA is seeking to find the perfect home for a 30-year-old miniature pony with Cushing's disease who has captured the hearts of their staff. An elderly miniature horse named Marty was surrendered by his owner in December 2022, the MSPCA-Angell said. Boston Proposal Would Fine Pet Shops For Selling Guinea Pigs In Addition To Cats, Dogs
Cage-bound pets will get the same protections cats and dogs have if a proposed ordinance passes, according to court documents. Boston City Councilor Liz Breadon proposed an update to the city's existing humane pet shop ordinance on Wednesday, March 22 that would prohibits the sale guinea pigs in pet shops in addition to existent restrictions on the sales of dogs, cats, and rabbits. Waives Fees For Rabbits and Guinea Pigs In Boston, Salem
Get the carrots and heads of lettuce ready — more than 130 little critters in need of homes will be free to adopt for one weekend, animal shelter officials say. The MSPCA-Angell and the Northeast Animal Shelter are overflowing with small animals, so they will waive adoption fees for guinea pigs and rabbits on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 17-18, MSPCA-Angell announced. New pet parents will avoid adoption fees of $85 per rabbit and $30 per guinea pig, meaning happy critters can get extra treats with the savings.
