Northern Lights Dazzle Mass. Residents
Residents across the Northeast were dazzled by the Northern Lights, visible Thursday evening, Oct. 10. The purple and pink lights were visible due to a Solar Storm, or a Coronal Mass Ejection from the sun on Tuesday, Oct. 8 which arrived in the area Thursday. "I got a text from a friend about 30 minutes ago," said Joe Jenkins, of Poughkeepsie, NY, "so I ran out and looked due north. You couldn’t miss it." Mass. Native Sets Yankees Rookie Home Run Record
The Yankees are among the greatest franchises in sports history, but none of the team's Hall of Famers did what Massachusetts native Ben Rice was able to pull off. The Cohasset native hit three home runs in the Yankees' 14-4 shellacking of the Boston Red Sox on Saturday, July 6 in the Bronx.
