26-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed After Being Thrown From Bike In Central Mass
Police say excessive speed caused an early morning crash on Monday, Sept. 9, in Worcester that killed a motorcyclist. The crash was reported around 2:45 a.m. near 465 Shrewsbury St. The 26-year-old Westborough rider was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene, Worcester police said. The man's name has not been released. An initial investigation found that the rider was traveling at an "extremely high rate of speed" when he hit a vehicle as it was turning left, Worcester police said. Trucker Killed Retrieving Item On Western Mass Roadway
A 36-year-old New York trucker was killed Friday morning, Aug. 16, when he climbed out of his cab after a small accident in Massachusetts before another truck crashed into him, authorities said. In Hampden County, Nicholas Charles, a resident of Mechanicville in Saratoga County was struck just after 9:45 a.m. near mile marker 33 of Route 90 in Blandford, Massachusetts State Police said. A woman has been charged with reckless driving after being accused of driving 115 miles per hour on a busy Connecticut highway. At about 4:40 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, a Connecticut State Police trooper in Windham County assigned to Troop D in Danielson was conducting speed enforcement along I-395 southbound in the area of exit 50 in Thompson. CT State Troopers Smash Allegedly Drunk Driver’s Window
Connecticut State Police had to smash a window and use a taser on a 24-year-old man before charging him with alleged drunk driving. The incident occurred in Middlesex County around 2:30 a.m., Saturday, June 22, on 1-91 northbound in Middletown between the rest area and Exit 20. According to State Police, troopers found a black GMC Sierra pickup with a Massachusetts license plate parked in the right climbing lane and several damaged DOT traffic cones. 21-Year-Old Killed In Western Mass Crash; 3 Others Hospitalized
A 21-year-old man was killed over the weekend in a two-car crash in Hampshire County, authorities said. The Monson man was involved in the crash on Route 9 near Anderson Road in Ware just before 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, the Northwestern District Attorney said. He died at the scene. Authorities have not released his name. A second person in the car, a 20-year-old from Warren, was airlifted to UMass Medical Center in Worcester with life-threatening injuries. 55-Year-Old ID'd As Man Killed In Plainfield Crash
Authorities in Hampshire County say they have identified the man who died after his car went off the road and crashed over the weekend. John Henry Burt, 55, crashed into the woods off Grant Street near North Street in Plainfield around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said. Firefighters had to cut him from the vehicle. Paramedics rushed him to Berkshire Medical Center, where doctors pronounced him dead. There were no other injuries. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
