Police identified a 72-year-old Berkshire County as the victim in a hit-and-run crash last week. The woman accused of hitting him faced a judge for the first time on Tuesday, Oct. 1. Samantha C. Paige, 36, or West Stockbridge, is charged with leaving the scene of a crash resulting in death, the Berkshire County District Attorney said. A judge ordered her held on a $7,500 bail, but she will not be released from jail after the judge revoked her bond in an unrelated case, authorities said. Western Mass Man ID'd As Victim In Fatal Alleged Drunk-Driving Crash
Police have identified a 59-year-old Hampden County man as the victim in an alleged drunk driving crash last week. James Menard, of Chicopee, was killed on Thursday, July 25, after another driver crashed into his car along Memorial Drive in Chicopee, pinning him inside, the Hampden District Attorney's Office said. A passenger in Menard's car suffered minor injuries in the crash. Teen Accused Of Killing Man In Western Mass While Out On Bail: DA
The 19-year-old accused of killing a 38-year-old Hampden County man last month was out on bail at the time of the fatal shooting, authorities said. Luis Rodriguez, of Chicopee, is charged with murder in the July 9 slaying of Dexter Ortiz, the Hampden District Attorney's Office said. Rodriguez was arrested on July 10 on motor vehicle charges and had his bail revoked in two other narcotics cases he is facing. Central Mass Man Busted With Kidnapping Teen From North Carolina: Police
Police arrested a Worcester County man over the weekend and accused him of abducting a North Carolina teenager, authorities said. Michael Oliver, of Clinton, was arrested on Saturday, June 29, and charged with trafficking of a child victim, abduction of a child, and soliciting a child with an electronic device, the Norwood (NC) police department said. A 16-year-old girl was killed on Thursday, May 30, after she was kidnapped by her stepfather and executed in a murder-suicide outside of her home in Acton, authorities said. Juliano Santana, 49, reportedly snatched the girl as she walked near her home on Great Road in Acton before driving her back to her house and killing her and then himself in his car, the Middlesex District Attorney said.
