Drunk Western Mass Wrong-Way Driver Busted On I-84 In CT, Blames GPS: Police A Massachusetts man was arrested over the weekend after police said he drove the wrong way on I-84 in Connecticut, blaming his GPS for the mistake, authorities said.  Alex Caiza-Apugllon, 28, of Chicopee, was arrested early Saturday morning, March 15, after troopers were alerted to a red Hyundai Elantra traveling east in the westbound lanes of the interstate in Farmington, according to Connecticut State Police. Police ID Man Hit, Killed In Chicopee Police have identified the 72-year-old man who was hit and killed walking along a street in Chicopee.  Edgar Francisco, of Chicopee, was hit around just after 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 23 in the 1500 block of Granby Road, authorities said on Wednesday, Feb. 26.  Paramedics rushed him to Baystate Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.  Chicopee police are investigating the crash.

26-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed After Being Thrown From Bike In Central Mass Police say excessive speed caused an early morning crash on Monday, Sept. 9, in Worcester that killed a motorcyclist.  The crash was reported around 2:45 a.m. near 465 Shrewsbury St. The 26-year-old Westborough rider was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene, Worcester police said.  The man's name has not been released.  An initial investigation found that the rider was traveling at an "extremely high rate of speed" when he hit a vehicle as it was turning left, Worcester police said. 55-Year-Old ID'd As Man Killed In Plainfield Crash Authorities in Hampshire County say they have identified the man who died after his car went off the road and crashed over the weekend.  John Henry Burt, 55, crashed into the woods off Grant Street near North Street in Plainfield around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said.  Firefighters had to cut him from the vehicle. Paramedics rushed him to Berkshire Medical Center, where doctors pronounced him dead.  There were no other injuries.  The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
