Brand-new rankings listing the richest municipality in each state reveal just that. Stacker said it used the most recent Census Bureau American Community Survey Five-Year Data (as of August 2024) to calculate its rankings. Worker Killed At Central Mass Quarry ID'd As Townsend Man A 67-year-old Middlesex County man was identified as the worker who was killed when a rock ledge fell on Thursday, Aug. 22, and crushed an excavator at a Massachusetts quarry.   Brian Curtis Derby, 67, of Townsend, died just before 8 a.m. when the rocks fell on his heavy machinery at the Sterling quarry along Stone Crest Way, the Worcester County District Attorney said.  Firefighters and crews worked through the day and night to retrieve Derby's body from beneath the rubble.  Sterling leaders ordered that workers stop all earth removal operations until the Occupati…

Griswold Crash Leaves Massachusetts Trucker Dead A 42-year-old Middlesex County, Massachusetts, man died after crashing his truck down an embankment along I-395 in Connecticut. Tim Murray, of Ashby, crashed his Freightliner truck in Griswold, New London County between Exit 24 and 28 around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8 Construction had closed the southbound right-hand lane of the highway. As Murray merged into the left lane, his 2019 Freightliner hit a guardrail. Murray corrected the truck but not before striking another section of the guardrail.  The truck tumbled down an embankment. Authorities pronounced Murray dead at the scene.…

Unruly Man, 74, Charged With DUI At Private Darien Club, Police Say An unruly 74-year-old man was charged with allegedly driving while intoxicated after police were called to a private Fairfield County beach club. Peter Welsh, of Middlesex County in Marlborough, Massachusetts, was arrested on Wednesday, June 19, at the Tokeneke Beach Club in Darien. According to Sgt. Mauricio Vigil of the Darien Police, officers were called to the club on a report of a possible unruly, intoxicated man.  Officers identified the individual as Welsh, who exhibited signs of intoxication and had a small laceration on his arm, Vigil said.
