Body Of Man From Neighboring Town Found Along Road In Carmel Authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was found along a Hudson Valley road. The body of Northern Westchester County resident Charles Flowers, age 81, of Somers, was discovered on Stoneleigh Avenue in Putnam County on Wednesday, Oct. 30 around 1 p.m. in the town of Carmel, according to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police. Drunk Driver From Carmel Leads Officers On Short Chase In Kent: Police A 40-year-old drunk driver was apprehended after fleeing a traffic stop in the Hudson Valley, police said. The incident leading to the man's arrest began in Putnam County just before 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, when a Kent Police officer saw a vehicle driving erratically on Route 311, according to the department. Firefighter Falls Through Floor While Battling Blaze At North Salem Home A firefighter fell through a floor during the response to a blaze at a Northern Westchester residence. The blaze began on Tuesday, Oct. 29 inside the laundry room at a North Salem home on Nash Road, according to the Croton Falls Fire Department. North Salem Central School District Names New Superintendent A Northern Westchester school district has selected its next superintendent months after placing its previous leader on administrative leave.
