Western Mass Man Killed By Machinery On CT Farm; Osha Investigating A man was killed this week after he was hit by a piece of heavy machinery in Connecticut, authorities said.  The 68-year-old Springfield, Massachusetts, man was at Lindy Farms on Fletcher Road when a skid steer loader backed into him just after 11:15 a.m., Enfield Police said. Authorities believe he was bending over, and the driver could not see him. The man's name was not released.  The man worked at the farm, but in what capacity is unclear.  Police contacted investigators with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) who are not looking into the matter.&n…

TGI Fridays Files For Bankruptcy Weeks After Sudden Closures Of At Least 12 Restaurants Casual dining chain TGI Fridays has filed for bankruptcy several weeks after at least 12 of its restaurants suddenly closed. The company filed the Chapter 11 petition on Saturday, Nov. 2, in Texas, near its Dallas headquarters. Founded in New York City in 1965, TGI Fridays has 95 restaurants in the US, 39 of which the company owns and operates. The other 56 are independent franchises not involved in the bankruptcy petition. Connecticut 17-Year-Old Killed In Western Mass. Crash A Connecticut teenager was killed in a Western Massachusetts crash on Sunday, July 28, authorities said.  The 17-year-old girl, from Enfield in Hartford County who was not identified, died just after the 2 p.m. wreck on North Blandford Road in the town of Blandford, the Hampden District Attorney's Office said.  Blandford is about 45 minutes west of Springfield.  Authorities have not released details about what led to the crash or how many vehicles were involved.
