Teen, 16, Dies Days After Motorcycle Crash In Cambridge: DA
A 16-year-old involved in a motorcycle versus SUV crash in Middlesex County on Aug. 28 has died, authorities announced Thursday, Sept. 7. Jaden McDaniels crashed into a Toyota RAV4 just after 8:45 p.m. at the intersection of Pleasant Street and Putnam Avenue in Cambridge, the Middlesex District Attorney's Office said. An initial investigation found that the Toyota was turning left onto Pleasant Street, and the motorcycle blew through a stop sign while traveling at a high rate of speed along Putnam and crashed into the SUV, the prosecutor's office said. Officials ID 20-Year-Old Man Killed Cambridge In Officer-Involved Shooting
The Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan said her office would conduct a thorough and transparent investigation into an officer-involved shooting in Cambridge Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 4, that left a man dead. Sayed Faisal, 20, of Cambridge, was identified as the man killed in the shooting after he approached police with a large knife that he had used to harm himself, Ryan said during a late-evening press conference to discuss the investigation. Machete-Wielding Man Killed In Officer-Involved Cambridge Shooting: Police
A 25-year-old man who repeatedly cut himself with a machete was shot and killed by a Cambridge police officer on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 4, authorities said. The shirtless man, whose name was not released, appeared to be suffering emotional distress when he took the blade and slit his wrists, according to the police radio call released by Live Boston. He then started to stab himself with the machete after police arrived.
