Needham residents have been warned not to use outdoor blue post office collection boxes to send their mail after police received complaints about increased phishing scams in the area. Synagogues Victim Of Hoax Bomb Threats In Mass: Police
Multiple places of worship were the victims of hoax bomb threats over the weekend, causing police to evacuate homes and close roads until they could investigate the scenes. An employee at Congregation Sha’aray Shalom at 1112 Main St. in Hingham received an email shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19 that said that bombs were inside the synagogue, according to police. Three 15-year-olds led police in a chase that reached unsafe speeds in the latest development of a string of stolen car cases in Wellesley, officials say. Police noticed a vehicle driving at very slow speeds on Colburn Road in Wellesley around 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2 and attempted to follow the vehicle as it sped down Washington Street, Forest Street, and into Needham, according to the Wellesley Police Department. A Worcester officer accused of taking money for overtime he didn't work and a Springfield cop charged with using his stun gun on a pregnant woman were among 15 law enforcement officials suspended by the state's Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) commission.
