A shooting early Thanksgiving morning left one family with an empty seat at their table and another waiting for updates at a Boston hospital, authorities announced. The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. at 10 Magazine Street in Central Square, the Middlesex County District Attorney said. A 25-year-old man was found not guilty by reason of insanity on Thursday, Oct. 12, of stabbing his 51-year-old mother to death in their home in 2019, authorities said. A man in Saugus is accused of killing his housemate after police found his body early Friday morning, July 7, authorities said. George Finley, age 64, is accused of murdering 37-year-old Joshua Thomson in a house their shared at 315 Essex Street in Saugus, the Essex County District Attorney said. A police spokesperson said they received a call around 6:30 a.m. of an "unattended death," but prosecutors changed that determination to homicide after detectives and medical examiners investigated the scene.
