Federal agents celebrated this week after the man they said led a violent gang that helped flood southeastern Massachusetts drugs was sentenced to nearly two decades in prison.

Springfield police working alongside Massachusetts State Police and the DEA said they scored a major drug bust over the weekend when they found 20,000 bags of fentanyl and heroin.
Omar Roman, 48, of Springfield, and Luis Robelo, 51, of Bronx, NY, were arrested on Sunday, Oct. 16, and charged with trafficking more than 200 grams of heroin/fentanyl, police said.

Western Mass Woman Gets Prison Sentence Much Shorter Than Her Husband: Feds
A judge sentenced a 32-year-old Springfield woman to more than seven years in jail after she pleaded guilty to taking part in a drug smuggling ring that moved crack, heroin, and cocaine from Massachusetts into Vermont, authorities said. Her husband got 19 years for taking part in the operation in 2019.

Five people will be spending time behind bars after they were busted for various drug trafficking offenses in Western Massachusetts, authorities said.
All five are residents of Pittsfield, authorities said.

Woman Charged With Possession Of Heroin, Cocaine In Western Mass
A woman is facing criminal charges following an alleged drug bust in Western Massachusetts.
In Hampshire County, Lori Larzazs-Supczak was stopped by Ware Police at around 4:30 p.m. Monday, June 6, while driving on Webb Court.
During the stop, officers discovered that she had an active warrant, police said.
A search of the car turned up heroin and cocaine, according to police.
Larzazs-Supczak was arrested on multiple charges, including possessing to distribute a Class A substance.
She was held on $5,000 bail awaiting arraignment at the Eastern Hampshire District Court Tuesday, June 7.
