Local Chain Heads To East Boston, Bringing 'Best Barbecue In The Area' A chef-owned chain with five Massachusetts locations is expanding its footprint yet again with a new waterfront restaurant. The Smoke Shop BBQ, known for its award-winning barbecue, announced on Facebook that it will open a new location in East Boston in June.  The restaurant chain is owned by chef Andy Husbands, a "pitmaster" with 30 years of restaurant experience and a list of awards for his barbecue.
