Journalist Richard Cohen, Husband To Meredith Vieira, Dies After Half-Century MS Battle
Journalist and author Richard Cohen has died after inspiring countless people through his decades-long battle with MS and cancer.
Cohen, the husband of former TODAY anchor Meredith Vieira, died on Tuesday, Dec. 24, TODAY reported. The Plainview, New York, native was 76 years old.
A veteran reporter, Cohen lived with multiple sclerosis for more than 50 years and overcame two cancer diagnoses during his life. He was also legally blind.
Cohen, who worked for CBS News, was given his MS diagnosis in 1973.

A mother and son from central Massachusetts were saved by life-saving drugs after they accidentally consumed poisonous mushrooms, according to a report by CBS News.
Kam Look and her son Kai Chen of Worcester, MA had eaten mushrooms from a friend's backyard, believing they were safe to eat, the outlet wrote.
But the mushroom, known as a "death cap," had enough poison in its cap alone to kill two adults, the report says. The pair began experiencing symptoms within a few hours of eating the fungus, according to the outlet.

Five Massachusetts colleges are among the most expensive four-year institutions in the United States, according to a report from CBS News.
On March 10, the news outlet shared a ranking of the 50 most expensive colleges in the country based on information from The National Center for Education Statistics.
