Sex Offender Threatens Couple With Golf Club At Boston MBTA Station

A convicted sex offender might be asking for a mulligan after a failed attempt to drive home a demand for cash with a golf club, officials say.

The golf club-wielding man requested cash from a couple at MBTA Hynes Station on Monday, May 22, and threatened them with his makeshift weapon when they refused, according to MBTA Transit Police. 

The man was arrested for the attempted robbery at 11:45 p.m.

He was determined to have multiple warrants out for his arrest, including the following:

  • Failure to register as a level 3 sex offender
  • Drug violation
  • Receiving stolen property
