Mohamed Abou Fofana, of South Boston, was playing at a park with an adult family member at Castle Island on Sunday evening, May 14, Massachusetts State Police report.
Shortly after 7 p.m,, the relative lost sight of Mohemed and was unable to find him. The relative called police around 7:30 p.m., reporting the boy was missing.
A search of the waters surrounding Castle Island ensued, but crews were unable to find Mohamed and paused their search until the next morning.
The boy is described as Black and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and blue footwear, according to police.
Anyone who sees Mohemed or has information about him should call 911 immediately.
