Trevor Lawrence, age 32, of Mattapan, faces charges of armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and numerous firearms and ammunition charges in the alleged May 2021 shooting, the Suffolk County District Attorney said. A judge ruled on Tuesday, Feb. 14, that Lawrence is too dangerous to receive bail following a dangerousness hearing, the prosecutor said.
Investigators accuse Lawrence of shooting his 38-year-old brother in the face as he took pictures of their family home to use in a real estate listing. The brother told detectives that they got into an argument, and Lawrence pulled out a weapon, aimed at the man's head, and fired, the prosecutor said.
Doctors at Boston Medical Center were able to save his life.
Police found a Taurus 380 pistol with a spent bullet casing in the chamber, the prosecutor said. Detectives arrested him on Saturday in Dorchester during a drug investigation at Balsam and Callender streets, officials added.
“Violence should never be an option in a dispute among family members or anyone else, but to see a sibling carry a disagreement to this level of intentional harm is sad in every way,” District Attorney Kevin Hayden said in a news release.
