ISIS Gunman Kills 3 US Service Members In Syria Ambush, 3 Other Americans Wounded Three Americans have died, and three more were wounded after a deadly ambush by an ISIS gunman near Palmyra, Syria, on Saturday, Dec. 13, according to Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell. The attack killed two US Army soldiers and a civilian US interpreter as they conducted a key leader engagement in support of ongoing counterterrorism operations.  Three other service members were also wounded and taken by helicopter to the al-Tanf garrison for treatment, Parnell said.
