Police Asking For Tips After Man Shot In Central Mass Police Asking For Tips After Man Shot In Central Mass
Police Asking For Tips After Man Shot In Central Mass Police in Worcester say a 24-year-old man was shot during a meeting with his attacker on Thursday, June 13.  The shooting happened around 4:30 p.m. in the area of Vernon Street. Worcester police were called to the shooting site and provided first aid until paramedics arrived to take him to an area hospital.  Investigators do not believe the shooting was random, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.  Officers ask anyone with information about the violent attack to contact investigators at 508-799-8651.

Woman Killed By Train In Western Mass A woman was struck and killed by a train Wednesday morning, June 5, in Berkshire County, authorities said.  Lynn Stanley, 41, of North Adams was hit in the area of American Legion Drive in North Adams, the Berkshire County District Attorney said.  Multiple people have posted memorials to the mother on Facebook.  Investigators have not disclosed the circumstances around the crash.  Police are investigating the incident and more information will be made available when that is complete, authorities said.

30-Year-Old Man ID'd As Victim In Fatal Springfield Shooting Police have identified the man who was killed in a shooting earlier this month in Springfield.  Aaron Cabrera, 30, of Ludlow, was shot around around 10 p.m. on May 21 in the 0-100 block of Fort Pleasant Avenue, Springfield police said.  Police were alerted to the fatal shooting after receiving a ShotSpotter alert. They found Cabrera bleeding from a wound, and paramedics rushed him to Baystate Medical Center, where he died of his injuries, police said.  Investigators are still searching for the shooter. Man's Body Found In Mass Wastewater Treatment Plant Workers at a Brockton wastewater treatment facility found the body of a man floating in the water Friday morning, May 24, authorities said.  The workers called 911 around 8:15 a.m. when they found the man at the 303 Oak Hill Way plant, the Plymouth District Attorney's Office said.
