Western Mass Man Dies After Boat Crash On Connecticut River; May Have Suffered Medical Event A Greenfield man died this weekend after his boat crashed on the Connecticut River near the French King Bridge in Turners Falls. Norman Plausky, 54, was found dead in his boat near the shoreline rocks Saturday afternoon, Sept. 13, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said. The engine was still running when police arrived. Authorities were called to the river around 2:30 p.m. They found the man’s boat near the shore. Investigators said the man “may have had a medical event on the boat prior to crash.” Officials said the case remains under investigation.

Body of Missing Mass Kayaker Found In CT River After 2-Week Search: 'Our Family Is Heartbroken' Searchers have recovered the body of a 27-year-old kayaker who fell into the Connecticut River earlier this month when his craft capsized while fishing with his girlfriend, authorities said. Niklas Delisle, of Chicopee, went missing on May 19 after falling into the water south of the Holyoke Dam. His body was recovered on Friday, May 30, according to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office. A fisherman who witnessed the kayak capsize rescued Delisle’s girlfriend from the water, saving her from drowning. She was hospitalized after the incident. 29-Year-Old With 'Gentle Loving Heart' ID'd As Man Found In Connecticut River A 29-year-old man from western Massachusetts and law clerk for the State of New Jersey has been identified as the person police pulled from the Connecticut River earlier this week.  Daniel Esrick, a Northampton native, was found Monday, Nov. 25, near the Gill side of Route 2, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said.
