Critics hoping to see former President Donald Trump in a jail cell can kiss that fantasy goodbye following his second White House win. Mass AG Files Brief In Texas Suit To Let Women Leave State For Abortion
Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey joined other Democrat state attorneys generals to file an amicus brief in a class action lawsuit that seeks to nullify portions of Texas' new abortion law. The law is considered one of the strictest in the nation. It blocks women from seeking to end a pregnancy six weeks after conception. Women don't often know they are pregnant at that point. Massachusetts Protects Abortion Rights In Response To Roe V. Wade Ruling
In response to the US Supreme Court overturning Roe V. Wade, Gov. Charlie Baker has signed an executive order protecting people's abortion rights in Massachusetts. “The Commonwealth has long been a leader in protecting a woman’s right to choose and access to reproductive health services, while other states have criminalized or otherwise restricted access,” Baker said in a release. “This executive order will further preserve that right and protect reproductive health care providers who serve out of state residents."
