A man trespassed on the path of the Rockport/Gloucester MBTA Line and died, officials say. Buses replaced train service after an adult male was hit and killed by an MBTA Commuter Rail Trail at approximately 10:05 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2 in the area of the 200 block of Essex Street in Swampscott, according to Richard Sullivan, Superintendent of the Transit Police Department. A bus driver had to think fast after a car smashed into the bus filled with passengers and swerved into a fence to avoid another collision, officials say. The MBTA bus was traveling on Morton Street when a passenger vehicle abruptly turned into the bus's lane, causing the two vehicles to collide at around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, according to Richard Sullivan, the Superintendent of the Transit Police Department. Somerville Man Threatens To Hit Bus Driver With Chock Block For 'Driving Too Slowly'
A 22-year-old Somerville man must have been late to an important meeting because he berated an MBTA bus driver for not going fast enough and threatened them with a heavy wooden block, authorities said. Wakell Steele hopped on the bus at Davis Square around 6:30 p.m. on Friday, July 15, but pressed the request stop button moments later, Transit Police said.
