Everett Woman's Death Caused By Medical Procedure Performed At Somerville House: DA
A 35-year-old Everett woman died last week after having a liposuction procedure conducted at a home in Somerville, authorities said. A second woman was hospitalized after having the same procedure there. Police were called to the 35-year-old's Bucknam Street home on Friday, May 10, to reports of a person in medical distress. Paramedics rushed her to CHA Everett, where she was pronounced dead, the Middlesex District Attorney said. A 34-year-old Middlesex County man convicted this summer of gunning down a man in a parking lot in 2017 was given a life sentence this week, authorities said. Police arrested a man who who threatened employees both verbally and physically at a Somerville gas station last month. Police responded to a report of a suspicious person at a gas station on Alewife Brook Parkway just before 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, according to a Somerville Police crime log. A Somerville laundromat became a murder scene after a man was stabbed and later died of his injuries, authorities said. Weymouth resident Joseph Muzzi, age 33, was stabbed in the evening of Monday Dec. 6 inside Spin Cycle Laundromat on Main Street, the Middlesex District Attorney's Office reports. Somerville police identified the 70-year-old cyclist who died over the weekend after a parked driver opened his car door into the bike rider and caused him to crash. Stephen Conley of Somerville was riding his bike on the Broadway bike lane just before 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 12, when a Land Rover's driver-side door flew open right in front of him, the Middlesex District Attorney's Office said. Somerville Police are investigating after a man wearing just his underwear allegedly attacked another man with a metal broom last week. Officers responded to the assault in the area of 33 Tower Street around 3:16 a.m. on Friday, July 1, police said. A 31-year-old man is in the hospital after he was stabbed in Davis Square in Somerville, authorities said.
