Cape Cod Man Accused Of Killing Mother Dies From Medical Emergency In Jail A man accused of killing his mother by burning her to death outside their Cape Cod home has died while in jail, reports said. According to the Bristol County Sheriff's Office, Adam Howe, age 34, suffered a medical emergency and died in his cell at Ashe Street Jail in New Bedford. He was taken to St. Luke's Hospital where he was pronounced dead, CBS Boston reports.  "Out of respect for the family, we have no additional comment or details," a spokesperson with the office said, WCVB reports. 26-Year-Old Shot To Death In Crowded Tauton Apartment: DA Police are investigating the death of a 26-year-old Lakeville woman who was shot and killed in a crowded Taunton apartment late Wednesday, Sept. 21, authorities said.  Colby Dowling was in the 52 Tremont Street apartment with several other people around 11 p.m. when she was shot, the Bristol County District Attorney's Office said. Police received a 911 call about the shooting, but when they arrived, Dowling was already dead, officials said.  Taunton police are investigating the incident and are not releasing any other information.

27-Year-Old Worcester Man Killed In Hit-Run From Multiple Vehicles: Police A 27-year-old man died over the weekend, authorities said, after cars struck him several times while he was walking along Route 290 in Worcester.  The man was near Exit 20 around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, when a vehicle, possibly a tractor-trailer crashed into him and kept driving, Massachusetts State Police said. Several other vehicles ran over his body after that and did not stop. Person Accidentally Shoots Themself Outside Stoughton Target: Police One person is in the hospital after they appeared to accidentally shoot themself outside the Target in Stoughton, authorities said. Police responded to a call of a person shot in the parking lot of the store at 1 Hawes Way around 6:46 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 1, Stoughton Police said.  Upon arrival, officers located a female victim suffering from a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound to the leg. She was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  The firearm was later taken by police and the incident remains under investigation.

911 Caller Makes Fake Shooting Threat Against Greater Boston Area School: Police The Salem Police Department is trying to track down an anonymous 911 caller who made several threats of violence against a local school. The caller made several false reports of shots fired, profanity and hang-ups to police against Collins Middle School on the morning of June 10, police said on Facebook. The caller also said he was going to stage a shooting at the school, according to police.  The department later determined the threats as not credible but have increased their presence at the school out of precaution. The investigation is ongoing.
