Suspended Driver Kills MA Woman, 20, In Thanksgiving Crash In NY: Police
A Massachusetts woman was killed in a crash in a vehicle operated by a man with a suspended license on Route 295 in the Capital Region on Thanksgiving, authorities said.
Shawn A. Barnwell, 25, of the Bronx, NY, lost control of the vehicle in slippery conditions, causing the vehicle to overturn and leave the roadway in Columbia County in Canaan, on Thursday evening, Nov. 28, Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police.

Damon, Affleck, Banks To Present At Golden Globes
Three of the biggest stars from Massachusetts will take the stage at the 81st Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, Jan. 7, to present awards for the best films and TV shows over the past year.
Elizabeth Banks, of Pittsfield, Matt Damon, and Ben Affleck, both of Cambridge, will be three among a star-studded lineup of presenters who will be handing out the golden statues at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
Damon and Affleck have worked together on screen for years, including most recently in the film “Air,” which tells the story of the origin of Nike’s Air Jordan basketball shoe line.

Man, 49, Hit, Killed While Working On Western Mass Road ID'd By Police
A 49-year-old construction worker working on a crew repairing a road in Berkshire County on Thursday morning, Oct. 12, was run over and killed by an 87-year-old driver, authorities said.
Shane Cassavant, of Lanesboro, was working on the roadway near 777 West Street just before 8 a.m., Pittsfield police said.
Edward Ladouceur, of Pittsfield, was driving east on the road and was flagged to move into the westbound lane once at the construction site. That's when police say he crashed his Chevrolet Colorado into Cassavant, police said.

Massachusetts Man Admits To Assaulting Officers In Capitol Riot Case
A Massachusetts man pleaded guilty to assaulting law enforcement officers during the breach of the US Capitol.
Berkshire County resident Troy Sargent, age 38, of Pittsfield, pleaded guilty on Monday, June 27 in the District of Columbia to six counts of an indictment, including assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers and civil disorder.
According to court documents, Sargent was part of a crowd of rioters illegally on the Capitol grounds on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021.

Five Charged After Meth, Cocaine, Heroin Seized In Western Mass
Five people will be spending time behind bars after they were busted for various drug trafficking offenses in Western Massachusetts, authorities said.
All five are residents of Pittsfield, authorities said.
