'Altercation' Near Melrose Hospital Gets Lynn 26-Year-Old Busted On Cocaine Charges
A drug trafficking arrest was made with the help of a K-9 who indicated to officers that a car door was stuffed with baggies of cocaine, officials say. Samuel Castillo, of Lynn, was arrested on Friday, April 7 for possessing and trafficking cocaine, according to the Melrose Police Department. Two Melrose police officers who helped an elderly couple get to safety when their house was on fire recently received commendations from the city's mayor. Officers Cole Hinchey and Allen Troche responded to an alarm call on Brunswick Park around 3 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11. USPS Offering $50,000 Reward To Find Out Who Robbed Mail Carrier In Melrose
The United States Postal Service is offering a $50,000 reward for information that helps lead to the arrest of the people responsible for an armed robbery of a mail carrier over the weekend. Details of the robbery are scarce, but the USPS released a reward poster that said the two suspects approached the carrier with a gun drawn around 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, in the Orchard Lane area.
