Construction Worker Hospitalized After Fall From Medford Home's Roof Into Basement
A construction worker suffered life-threatening injuries after falling between 15 and 20 feet, officials say. Firefighters were alerted of a construction accident on Green Road in Medford around 11:55 a.m. on Monday, July 3 in which a construction worker fell between 15 and 20 feet, according to the Medford Firefighters Local 1032. The worker fell from the roof into the basement of a single-family home. He suffered life-threatening injuries in the fall. Firefighter crews extricated the worker from the basement. An employee who was sleeping at his place of work died in an early morning fire in Medford this weekend, authorities said. Medford Police and Fire responded to a report of a fire at 58 Swan Street, the address for Coastal Milling Works, around 4:20 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 5, according to Medford Police. A 28-year-old man is being kept alive after he was pulled from the water at a Medford pond over the weekend, authorities said. The Malden Police Department is mourning the loss of one of their own from this past week, the department said on Facebook. Officer Shawn J. Dillon died unexpectedly at the age of 33 at his home on Friday, July 8, the department said.
