Newton Man Dies Days After House Fire; Broken Lamp Likely To Blame For Blaze A Newton man who was trapped in a Newton house fire on Dec. 13 has died of his injuries, authorities announced on Tuesday, Dec. 26.  The blaze began about 10 a.m. at 125 Allen Ave. One of the people inside escaped the conflagration, but the older man — who is in his 70s — was left trapped inside. He had limited mobility and needed to be rescued from the flames by a firefighter, the State Fire Marshal said.  The man died on Dec. 23. His name was not released. The firefighter who rescued him received less serious injuries. They both were taken to Mass General for treatment.  I…

15-Year-Old Girl Hit By Car In Her Middleton Driveway Dies Week Later: DA A 15-year-old girl who was hit by a car last week while in her driveway has died of her injuries, authorities said.  The child — whose name is being withheld because of her age — was hit on April 10 at 1 Meadowlark Farm Lane, the Essex County District Attorney's Office said.  Paramedics airlifted her to Mass General, where she died on Sunday, April 16.  The driver of the car that hit the girl stayed on the scene and has cooperated with investigators. Man Admits To Killing Toddler In Brockton; Gets 10-Year Sentence: DA A 28-year-old man who was accused of shaking a Brockton 2-year-old to death in 2016 pleaded guilty just as his trial was set to begin, authorities said.  Timy Jo Griffin, 28, of Long Beach, California, admitted to one count of involuntary manslaughter on Tuesday, April 4, the Plymouth District Attorney's Office said. 70-Year-Old Somerville Cyclist Killed After Driver 'Doored' Him: Police Somerville police identified the 70-year-old cyclist who died over the weekend after a parked driver opened his car door into the bike rider and caused him to crash.  Stephen Conley of Somerville was riding his bike on the Broadway bike lane just before 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 12, when a Land Rover's driver-side door flew open right in front of him, the Middlesex District Attorney's Office said.
