Crews Attack Second Malden Fire This Week (Developing) Multiple crews were on the scene of a two-alarm fire in Malden, according to developing reports. The fire was reported at 21 Stanton Street on the evening of Friday, Dec. 29. Witnesses said the bulk of the fire had been knocked down just after 6 p.m. but heavy smoke was still visible. 'Unsafe' Extension Cord Behind Malden Fire That Hospitalized 2 Firefighters The use of an "unsafe" extension cord was the cause of a three-alarm fire at a Malden home that hospitalized two firefighters and displaced nine people, officials said.  Malden Fire responded to the fire at 24-26 John Street around 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 26, Malden Fire Chief William P. Sullivan and State Fire Marshal Peter J.
