At least eight recent fires that destroyed over 400 acres of land in Lynn Woods were intentionally set, the state fire marshal announced on Wednesday, May 17. Officials are assessing the damage of a partial sea wall collapse that puts the status of a restaurant that boasts oceanfront views in jeopardy. A sea wall that supports Mission on the Bay, a Swampscott restaurant located at 141 Humphrey Street, experienced a partial collapse in the afternoon of Thursday, May 4, according to the Lynn Fire Department which provided mutual aid. Update: Woman Hospitalized After Hitting Herself With Own Car
A 911 call reporting that a pedestrian had been run over by a can sent firefighters rushing to a corner store where they found a woman who had injured herself with her own car, officials say. Firefighters were dispatched to 59 North Franklin Street near Richdale Convenience Store at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, the Lynn Fire Department confirmed to Daily Voice. The injured woman attempted to get something off her windshield, but had not put her car in park. The woman was transported to Salem Hospital with a non-life threatening leg injury.
