Update: ID Released For Ipswich Man Who Drowned At Yacht Club
Despite first responders' efforts to revive him, a man died in the water off of an Essex County island, officials say. Richard P. Collins, a 72-year-old man from the Great Neck area of Ipswich, drowned on Wednesday, July 26 in the area of the Ipswich Bay Yacht Club's mooring area, located at 124 N. Ridge Road, according to the Ipswich Police Department. Person Drowns At Pavilion Beach In Ipswich: Police
Authorities in Ipswich are investigating after a person drowned over the weekend. Ipswich Police and Fire Departments responded to a person in distress at Pavilion Beach around 5:17 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, both departments said in a joint release. Crews pulled the individual from the water, who wished to remain unidentified, before taking them to a local hospital where they later died. The incident is under investigation.
