Motorcyclist Killed In Groton Crash ID'd As 27-Year-Old Man Police have identified the 27-year-old motorcyclist who was killed in a head-on crash earlier this week in Groton.  Cody Trudel, of Ayer, died after his bike was struck head-on along Boston Road just after 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, the Middlesex District Attorney's Office said.  Investigators believe the driver of an oncoming car in the westbound lane veered into his lane. The 20-year-old Townsend driver of that car remained at the scene.  Police are investigating the circumstances leading to the crash. No charges had been filed as of Friday afternoon.

Potentially 'Devastating' Fire In Groton Ruled Suspicious: Fire Marshal Fire investigators say a blaze at a large, abandoned building in Middlesex County may have been intentionally set.  The blaze at the 500 Main St. building in Groton started just before 2 p.m. in a utility room on Monday, Oct. 9, the State Fire Marshal said. The facility, which used to house the Deluxe Corporation, has been the target of vandalism in the past.  Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames, and no injuries were reported. Police responded for a report of a person hit by a delivery van near 321 Boston Road around 8:05 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, Groton Police said. The man was taken to Lahey Clinic with serious injuries. Initial investigation suggests the van struck another car and the man, police said. The driver of the van stayed on scene and is working with investigators.
