The tornado hit the village of West Winfield in southern Herkimer County late Saturday morning, June 22. It's about 60 miles east of Syracuse and 85 miles west of Albany. Tristate Twister: Tornado With 100 MPH Winds Travels Through CT, 2 Other States A survey conducted by the National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado caused damage across three states during a severe thunderstorm including in Connecticut. The tornado touched down Wednesday, Sept. 13 in Windham County in Killingly. It then traveled over the towns of Foster, Glocester, and Lincoln in Providence County, Rhode Island, and then finally, into North Attleboro, Massachusetts, in Bristol County. Tornado Touch Down Confirmed In Region During Round Of Storms A tornado touched down in Connecticut during a round of isolated, severe thunderstorms.The National Weather Service announced on Friday, July 29 that a storm survey confirmed an EF-0 tornado in northeastern Litchfield County on Thursday evening, July 28.  The tornado was on the ground for 5 miles with maximum winds of 75 miles per hour and a width of 300 yards. An EF-0 is the second weakest of the six levels of tornadoes on the Enhanced Fujita scale.
