Highest Number Of Storms Ever Predicted For 2024 Hurricane Season Get set for what could potentially be one of the most active hurricane seasons ever, according to a brand-new forecast by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) forecasters at the Climate Prediction Center. The outlook, released Thursday, May 23, predicts an 85 percent chance of an above-normal season, a 10 percent chance of a near-normal season, and a 5 percent chance of a below-normal season.
