NFL's 'Music City Miracle' Star Who Donated Brain To BU Researchers Had CTE, Family Says Frank Wycheck, a Philadelphia native and Maryland Terrapin known for one of the most iconic plays in NFL history, had a severe form of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) when he died more than a year ago, his family said. Wycheck's family confirmed the former Tennessee Titans tight end's posthumous diagnosis of stage three CTE in a statement released on Thursday, Jan. 9.
