Boston Man's Illegible Graffiti Paints More Dangerous Picture
A 22-year-old Boston man caught spray painting "gang" signs at an MBTA station earlier this week should have left his paint at home as it led to his arrest on much more serious charges. Jeremiah Springer of Roxbury was spotted by someone allegedly tagging a wall at Copley Station on Thursday, Sept. 15, a little after 8 p.m., who told a nearby officer, transit police said. A Cambridge taxi driver is being held in lieu of $20,000 bail for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in the back of his cab at an MBTA station parking lot over the weekend, authorities said. Bereket Meshesha, age 44, was charged in connection with the assault that happened in the Beachmont station parking lot in Revere in the overnight hours of Saturday, Sept. 10, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office said. A 24-year-old man from Boston has been arrested in connection with a shooting that happened near a Cambridge playground over the weekend, authorities said. Tyrone Bruce was arrested for the shooting which happened in the area of Market and Bristol Streets around 1:18 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11, Cambridge Police said. This is close to Arthur J. Cambridge Police are investigating after gunshots were heard in broad daylight near a playground in the city. Police responded to a report of gunshots in the area of Market and Bristol Streets around 1:18 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11, Cambridge Police said on Twitter. This is in the same area as Arthur J. A box truck hit and killed a 29-year-old pedestrian as he crossed through a parking lot in Cambridge earlier this week, authorities said. Matthew Barker was in a lot off State Street near Massachusetts Avenue Thursday night, Sept. 1, around 8:30 when a box truck for a local restaurant crashed into him, the Middlesex District Attorney's Office announced on Friday. A Boston man could be spending even more time behind bars after being charged with several bank robberies in the Boston area, the US Attorney's Office for Massachusetts reports. Jacob Pimentel, who was indicted on four counts of bank robbery, is already serving time for a related offense in Middlesex County, the office said on Monday, Aug. 29. A Cambridge Police officer is suspended after he was arrested for apparently driving drunk and causing a multi-vehicle crash, authorities said. Michael Daniliuk has worked with the department as Youth Resource Officer for the past 24 years, Cambridge Police said.
