Brush Fire Scorches 96 Acres In Rockport: Officials
Approximately 96 acres were scorched by a brush fire in one North Shore town, fire officials said. After several hours, firefighters extinguished the fire near Johnson's Quarry that broke out on Monday morning, Nov. 21, Rockport Fire said on Facebook. The area where the fire occurred was still considered to be under severe drought conditions, according to US Drought Monitor. Fires Burns More Than 2 Dozen Acres In Marlborough: Firefighters
Heavy smoke blanketed a large swath of Marlborough over the weekend as a brush fire burned more than two dozen acres of land. The fire began just before noon on Friday, Aug. 19, about a mile from Concord Road, the Marlborough Fire Department said in a Facebook post. Crews from Marlborough Sudbury and Hudson Fire departments battled the blaze throughout the weekend until they put it out on Sunday. Breakheart Reservation in Saugus has been closed for several days because of a multi-acre brush fire that has shown no signs of stopping. Crews Battle 3-Alarm Brush Fire In Gloucester (

Firefighters were on the scene in Gloucester where a 3-alarm brush fire broke out earlier Monday morning, Aug. 1, authorities said. The fire started in the area of Poles Hill and Riverview Road around 10:45 a.m., Gloucester Fire said. Crews struggled to contain the flames as the area was hard to access and the blaze spread because of dry and windy conditions. Brush Fire Torches 11 Acres At Former Western Mass Landfill
Firefighters from several departments helped contain an 11-acre brush fire that occurred in Hampshire County Tuesday, the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services said in a release. Granby firefighters responded to the fire in area of a former landfill at 11 New Ludlow Road around 2:35 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, the department said. It was soon brought to multiple alarms and required help from several neighboring departments and statewide task forces.
