A "lucky young man" was taken to the hospital with injuries sustained when his car crashed into a tree and a guardrail, officials say. A driver was heading north on Route 128 in Beverly around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 15 when his car left the road and caught fire in the crash, according to the Beverly Fire Department. The car crashed into a tree and got caught on a guardrail located near the Essex Street off-ramp. The vehicle burst into flames because of the impact. Two pets were killed and more than 40 people were displaced after a "stubborn" fire burned through a North Shore apartment complex, authorities and reports said. Crews Battle 3-Alarm Brush Fire In Gloucester (

Firefighters were on the scene in Gloucester where a 3-alarm brush fire broke out earlier Monday morning, Aug. 1, authorities said. The fire started in the area of Poles Hill and Riverview Road around 10:45 a.m., Gloucester Fire said. Crews struggled to contain the flames as the area was hard to access and the blaze spread because of dry and windy conditions.
