Somerville Woman, 32, Injures Leg On Slippery NH Trail, Carried Off Trail On Litter A section of wet rock resulted in a leg injury and an hours-long rescue for one hiker, officials say.  Brynne Quinlan, of Somerville, slipped and fell while hiking on the Webster Jackson-Mount Jackson Branch Trail in Carroll, New Hampshire around 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 3, according to the New Hampshire Fish and Game Law Enforcement Division and Operation Game Thief. Boston Outdoor Enthusiast, 22, Killed By Lightning While Camping In Wyoming A Massachusetts family is mourning the loss of their 22-year-old son who was struck by lightning and killed during an outdoors course in Wyoming.  John "Jack" Murphy was struck by lightning while camping in the Absaroka Mountains on Tuesday, Aug. 2, according to a release from the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS).  Murphy was attending NOLS' Wilderness First Responder expedition when he and another student were struck.
