Authorities had to clean up a truckload of trash following a tractor-trailer rollover on a Massachusetts Turnpike off-ramp that left a driver injured.
The crash happened in Middlesex County on Wednesday, Oct. 4 around 9:15 a.m. in Hopkinton on the off-ramp leading from the eastbound Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) to Interstate 495, state police announced.
The incident caused trash that the truck had been carrying to spill out all over the side of the roadway, resulting in a temporary ramp closure.
The driver, a 28-year-old Fitchburg man, suffered minor injuries from the crash and was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
The truck, a 2020 Western Star 4900SF cab owned by Service Plus Disposal of Worcester, was removed from the ramp by a heavy-duty tow at 11:30 a.m.
An investigation into the incident is now being conducted by state police, who added that the operator will likely be issued a summons for motor vehicle offenses.
