Officials responded to a report of an assault with a knife in the parking lot of the Daly Rink, located at 4 Nonantum Road in Newton at approximately 9:16 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, according to the Massachusetts State Police.
A 32-year-old man from Quincy was found suffering from a stab wound.
The victim had driven to the rink to play soccer on an adjacent field, he said. He said he was outside of his car when the assaulter, a female, exited her own car, confronted and stabbed him.
The suspect drove away from the scene of the assault.
The victim was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for a non-life threatening injury.
Massachusetts State Police Troopers, Newton Police, and EMS responded to the incident.
The assault is under investigation by the State Police-Boston Barracks and the Troop H Detective Unit.
