Massimo's Ristorante on 19 Centre St. in Wakefield will close on Friday Dec. 23, according to a Facebook post written by owners Massimo and Nancy. The restaurant's property has been put up for sale.

"We want to thank everyone for your support throughout this journey and we would never have made it this far without all of you," Massimo and Nancy said.

The restaurant has been open for nearly 30 years, offering patrons homemade lobster ravioli, veal saltimbocca, and steak piccata. Massimo's will continue serving up Italian dishes, operating during normal hours, until Thursday Dec. 22, giving diners a few more days to grab a favorite meal.

Diners reminisced about the happy times and good food they had at Massimos in the comments section.

"Always great food since the day they opened many years ago," one commenter said. "Good luck to Max and Nancy on their future!"

"So sad to see you go," another commenter wrote. "Wonderful Memories and the Best Italian Food! We will be there tomorrow for our last meal. It's the end of an era but we all wish you both the best!"
