Expect Heavy Traffic In Haverhill, Methuen After Water Main Bursts Causes I-495 Sinkhole: DOT Massachusetts Department of Transportation officials warn drivers in Haverhill and Methuen to expect heavy delays on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 7-8, as crews repair a sinkhole on I-495.  A water main break beneath the highway opened up the sinkhole just after Exit 106 in the southbound lanes, State Police said, forcing authorities to close two lanes. Troopers said drivers should expect major delays on the interstate through the Methuen-Haverhill corridor and on interchanges at Routes 213, 110, 97, and 125.  Officials expect to have the water main repaired Monday night. On Thursday, police said that Norma Matthews, 81, of Lowell, Massachusetts, and Virginia Licata, 86, of Blackwood, NJ, have been identified as the pair killed in a crash on July 24 that shut down Route 301 for hours.
