Buzz Williams, a proven winner with stops at Marquette, Virginia Tech, and most recently Texas A&M, has been named the new head coach of the Maryland Terrapins men’s basketball team, school officials announced Tuesday, April 1.
The announcement comes just days after Kevin Willard’s exit for Villanova following a Sweet 16 run that captivated Terps Nation.
Now, Maryland is turning to a coach with 11 NCAA Tournament appearances, four Sweet 16 runs, and a reputation for gritty, disciplined basketball.
