Beloved Fall River Grandfather Killed Crossing Brockton Road Leaves Family Heartbroken A husband, father, and grandfather remembered for his kindness was killed after being struck by an SUV while crossing a dark stretch of road last week, leaving his family shattered and searching for answers. William Dearth, a 55-year-old Fall River man, died following the crash near 885 Belmont St. in Brockton around 9:30 p.m. Friday, May 1, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.
